With over 19 years' experience as an acoustic engineer, Alex has the capabilities to deliver on a wide variety of projects.

Overview

Starting his career in Adelaide in 2006, Alex has worked across Australia on a variety of challenging and diverse projects, including renewable energy, television studios, major road and rail infrastructure and education facilities. In this role, Alex was an integral part of the team responsible for delivering the Northern Expressway project, and worked closely with the state government to develop and refine their approach to noise and vibration management in South Australia.

In 2011, Alex relocated to Canada where he gained further experience on complex large projects and working with diverse teams from different backgrounds and cultures. In Canada, Alex led multiple wind energy noise assessments for wind farms throughout various development stages, including conducting stakeholder consultations, meeting with regulators, preparing environmental assessments and working with developers to resolve issues during commissioning and post-construction. While in Canada, he was project manager for the delivery of environmental services for a 15 km long wastewater tunneling project to transfer water from a rapidly growing community to existing wastewater infrastructure. Within this role, he was responsible for the delivery of noise and vibration services throughout construction, including development of a vibration monitoring platform for tunnel boring machines.

In his role, Alex was sought after by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment to provide feedback and recommendations regarding updates to wind energy noise policy. Alex worked as a representative with the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CANWEA) to represent acoustic consultants across Ontario in negotiations with the Ontario government.

Alex relocated back to Australia in 2016 and has since continued to provide acoustic services to clients. Since returning to Adelaide, he has worked on complex projects across Australia, including renewable energy projects in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. He is also responsible for providing services for the Torrens to Darlington project in South Australia, and serves as the Study Director for Construction and Operational segments of the project.

In his roles he has continued to leverage his experience and understanding of acoustics, as well as a proficiency in communicating complex acoustic technical issues to clients and community, in order to help deliver a high level of client service and understanding. Alex is the Energy Market Lead for the EMM Acoustics team.
