We are pleased to welcome the recent senior appointment of Dr Tim Ezzy as an Associate Director based in our Brisbane office
With a distinguished career fulfilling both private and public sector roles, Tim brings 19 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist working across Australia, South America, Canada, Asia Pacific and New Zealand. His expertise extends across multiple sectors to provide specialist support in the areas of mine hydrogeology, aquifer characterisation, tailings and waste dump seepage mitigation, mine groundwater impact assessments, aquifer connectivity studies, stakeholder management and regulatory interactions.
Most recently Tim has utilised his growing skillsets in data analytics to bring key water management insights to mining, CSG and infrastructure groundwater projects. Across a broad range of projects domestically and internationally he has combined traditional hydrogeological approaches with data science workflows to streamline efficiency and to extract the maximum value out of both small and very large datasets. Examples include understanding irrigation impacts on receptors, how tailings dam seepage can be readily detected and mitigated, and more objectively evaluating hydrochemical signatures within and between aquifers towards development of defensible conceptual models.

The national water team at EMM comprises 50+ professionals dedicated to working collaboratively with our clients to achieve practical and environmentally responsible project outcomes. The team adopt innovative approaches to approval strategies, environmental assessments and methods for communicating complex science to a broader audience.
Tim holds a PhD in Hydrogeology and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Queensland University of Technology. In addition, Tim is a registered Professional Geoscientist and is an active member of the Australian Institute of Geologists and International Association of Hydrogeologists.
