 Bryce Skarratt joins EMM to bolster Strategic Advisory services in Sustainability, ES&G and Environmental Approvals

EMM is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced environmental practitioner Bryce Skarratt to the company’s national strategic advisory team. With three decades of experience in environmental and social assessment and sustainability management, Bryce brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and a unique perspective to his new role.

Bryce's previous position as Manager Approvals, International at Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has equipped him with a deep understanding of corporate, regional, and project-level environmental strategy and policy. In this role Bryce led the development and implementation of permitting, approvals and environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) policy, standards and processes for a rapidly evolving global green industry business as part of the FFI corporate governance team.

Prior to his tenure at FFI, Bryce made significant contributions as part of BHP's Corporate HSE team. He played a pivotal role in reviewing and updating BHP's global standard for Environment and Climate Change and led the Collective Action stream for BHP's Water Stewardship Strategy. Additionally, he contributed to the development of BHP's global Social License Strategy, focusing on identifying social license risks through situational analysis. Bryce's expertise in policy development, approvals governance, and standards implementation has been recognized, earning him an invitation to participate in a Core Design Team tasked with developing a new regulatory framework for the federal Department of Environment and Energy in 2017.

This senior appointment is in line with the company’s focus to geographically strengthen strategic advisory support. The team adopt a partnership approach to deliver advisory services for ES&G; biodiversity offsets and stewardship; asset transition; digital visualisation; strategic planning and environmental approvals; water stewardship and water access and supply advice with a focus on delivering long-term value.  

Bryce holds a Bachelor of Science, Natural Resources and will be based in the company’s Perth office.
