As part of a proposed future urban development at Glossodia, north-west of Sydney, EMM examined three potential urban development scenarios of up to 950 new residential lots. A local road upgrading strategy was prepared with Hawkesbury City Council DCP guidelines for the preferred development options.
The traffic assessment identified the existing daily traffic usage of a number of roads in the affected area and identified whether and where future road upgrading would be required to meet the DCP guidelines. A future upgrading strategy and provisional cost estimates were determined for these works, including optional additional works, such as safe cycle lanes and/or cycle ways alongside some roads, and the potential use of a developer funded shuttle bus service to meet the public transport needs of the area during the early years of the development.
