a number of recent internal promotions.
Joel Georgiou – Associate Director (Land & Water)
Joel continues to impress with his exceptional contribution and focus on leading the EMM water and land service in South Australia.
He also continues to successfully build the development of the company’s industry recognised, groundwater modelling technical expertise, delivering on key nationally significant projects for mineral sands mining and pumped hydro projects.
Jackie Clifford – Associate GIS Analyst
Jackie is one of our leading technicians in our Spatial Solutions team, providing strong insights and a real client focus. She pushes our innovation piece, working with a variety of our teams to find new solutions, never accepting the status quo.
Jackie’s promotion to Associate reflects not only her technical excellence (or techcellence), but also her team focus in her role as Team Manager for our Spatial Solutions team. Jackie brings a real team focus, using her amazing people skills and empathy to build a strong team that delivers for the business and our clients.
Ryan Desic – Associate Archaeologist
Ryan provides strong technical advice to internal and external clients, based on sound scientific practice and a keen understanding of the framework in which we work.
Since joining EMM in 2012, he has become known for his practical approach to projects across the renewable energy, infrastructure, and extractive industries. As the Heritage Team Leader, Ryan is known for his commitment not only to providing optimal project outcomes but to the development of the team. His peers gravitate towards his considered and collaborative approach – a great team player, who has even put his body on the line for the EMM Emus soccer team.
Sally Callander – Associate Surface Water Engineer
Sally is recognised by her peers and clients as a high achiever who is focused on targeted outcomes and the timely delivery of a very high-quality product.
Based in the NSW Hunter region, Sally is an integral part of EMM’s expanding surface water business that services projects and clients across the country, working closely with our groundwater and land teams. Sally demonstrates all traits of the ideal team player and is highly respected by her peers. She provides considered advice and creates an environment that motivates her colleague.
Sam Cook – Associate Hydrogeologist
Sam played a key role in the foundation of the NSW water business, and then pioneered EMM’s West Australian office in 2016. He has recently been instrumental in establishing a highly recognised water team in Perth.
Sam has a strong growth mindset, fostering a culture of learning both within the office but also within project teams. This aptitude has seen him always looking for ways to innovate, welcoming a challenge and providing a clear vision for clients and staff alike. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Sam leads from the front in demonstrating great humility and respect.
Susan May-Raynes – Associate Urban Planner
Susan is a team player who is respected by her peers and clients. She demonstrates three key strengths: a high level of technical expertise in land-use planning; a remarkable skill at maintaining and growing a network of clients; and a key contributor to a positive corporate culture.
She has collaboratively worked to help lead the EMM establishment of a core service offering in social impact assessment and community engagement. She is a valued mentor to young planners and new EMM recruits.
David Richards – Senior Environmental Scientist
David’s promotion is a testament to his dedication to EMM and our values of commitment, integrity, respect and humility. He consistently demonstrates his breadth of knowledge across different sectors and project sizes by proactively recognising the needs of our clients. This combined with his strong work ethic ensures delivery of successful project outcomes.
As the champion of EMM’s Health and Wellbeing program, David is also a source of endless encouragement, support and inspiration to all around him.
Lawrence Wallis – Senior Environmental Scientist
Laurie’s promotion to Senior Environmental Scientist acknowledges his commitment and leadership on a range of projects, in particular his integral role in the project management team for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Since joining EMM early in 2017, Laurie has shown strong leadership, communication and project management skills and his promotion to Senior Environmental Scientist reflects his strong worth ethic and demonstrated ability.
