EMM is pleased to announce our appointment by the Estate and Infrastructure Group (E&IG) within the Department of Defence to the Defence Infrastructure Panel – Environment, Heritage and Estate Engineering 2020 – 2025.   The panel is a Whole of Government arrangement for the provision of environment, heritage and estate engineering related services to Department of Defence and other Commonwealth agencies.

The public tender was advertised in April 2019 and submissions were evaluated based on demonstrated capability, skills, qualifications, depth of resources and experience to provide ongoing services to Commonwealth projects and locations.

EMM Defence Sector Lead Victoria Buchanan led the coordination of the three tranches of submissions and will maintain oversight of all panel projects for the duration of the contract in her role as Panel Manager.  Commenting on the appointment, Victoria highlights:

“We’re ready to bring the best of our national capability to serve and deliver to Defence. Our National, Regional and Service leadership structure reflects Defence geographically and its approach to program delivery. It aligns with Defence’s expectations regarding quality, communication, consistency, efficiency, responsivity and adding value nationally across all Service Categories”.

EMM Managing Director and CEO Luke Stewart further commented:

“We have invested heavily in augmenting our team’s capability with in-depth, current and relevant Defence experience.  Our dedicated Defence Leadership Team collectively holds ~100 years of integrated service project delivery across planning and environmental disciplines.  We are looking forward to working in partnership with Defence and other Departments to provide ongoing services to Commonwealth projects”.

The Whole of Government contract appointment aligns with the company’s focus on the successful delivery of environmental services on nationally significant projects.

Commencing in July 2020, the panel will run for a minimum of five years with EMM’s appointment including Contamination Management; Historic Heritage; Indigenous Heritage; Heritage Management Planning; Environmental Management Systems; Pollution Prevention; and Bushfire Preparedness Planning.
