We are currently inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced environment professionals to join our Environment, Community, Approvals and Delivery division. Primarily we are seeking an experienced and avid Environmental Planner at Associate level to join our team in Newcastle on a permanent full-time basis.
Key functions of this position include:
- Lead environmental projects including environmental impact assessments, strategic land use planning, infrastructure project development and approvals management;
- Perform as Project Manager with responsibility for project delivery including monitoring project budgets, tracking schedules and outputs and outcome evaluation;
- Preparation of high-quality deliverables across a variety of mediums;
- Mentor and provide on the job training to team members; and
- Uphold a high level of integrity and discretion
In particular we seek applications from individuals with 12+ years’ relevant experience, ideally gained within a consulting environment, who can demonstrate the following competencies:
- Extensive experience in;
- environmental impact statements and assessments (including SSD/SSI)
- preparation of environmental planning instruments
- strategic land use planning
- environmental auditing
- environmental risk assessments
- procurement and tender assessments
- business case analysis
- development contributions planning
- Experience across a variety of sectors including construction, industrial and infrastructure;
- Superior project management and project delivery skills;
- In depth understanding of relevant legislation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Robust personal time management and organisational skills;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently; and
- Flexibility to work across a range of projects and industry sectors
