Project Description

Overview
The $8.3 billion North West Rail Link project is the largest public infrastructure project under construction in Australia. In 2013, as part of the project’s early works, EMM was commissioned to carry out archaeological investigations and deliver a community consultation event on the heritage site of state significance, the White Hart Inn.
EMM’s consultation expertise helped design the heritage consultation event to raise the profile and importance of the heritage site for the region and to generate a high level of stakeholder interest in participating and preserving the site for future generations.
The consultation event was designed for three types of audiences (key dignitaries, professionals and for the general community) across three days. Much meticulous planning went into preparing the sessions, including site tours, viewing artefacts, and fielding questions to a dedicated team of archaeologists present at the sessions. The event received national coverage with over 1,000 people attending the three days.
