EMM Consulting is pleased to welcome experienced Project Manager Ian Shenton as an Associate environmental consultant based in Sydney.

For the past 10 years, Ian has held various extractive industry roles from Senior Environmental Advisor to Planning and Environment Manager and most recently leading a team as the Pit Manager at Albion Park Quarry for Holcim. This experience provided valuable insights into capital project management, stakeholder engagement and statutory authority consultation. Along with his vast experience in the Planning, Environmental and Construction industries, Ian also brings strong expertise across the full project life cycle from planning to execution and delivery.

With a Bachelor in Environmental Management and an Advanced Diploma in Extractive Industries Management, Ian says that deciding to pursue a career in the industry was an easy decision due to passion for the natural environment, whether it be bush, ocean or the mountains.  His interest grew over the years to encompass how projects and developments influence and work with the natural environment.

“I really enjoy working on projects that provide a benefit to society and manage their environmental footprint concurrently – finding a good balance.  The variety of such opportunities within EMM is really exciting”

EMM Director and Division Leader Duncan Peake commented:

“Ian is a welcomed addition to our national Asset Delivery practice area.  The group focus on providing specialist advice to assist D&C Contractors, Joint Ventures, Alliances, government and delivery authorities in development, approval and delivery of highly complex projects.  Ian’s extensive understanding of they key risks and drivers in managing major project delivery from planning, execution to delivery and operation ideally place him to support our clients”.

Ian’s arrival at EMM follows the Environment, Community, Approvals and Delivery division senior appointments of Paul Freeman and Louisa Rebec.
