Due to ongoing company growth, new project opportunities, and a commitment to foster the growth and development of our people, we are currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Team Leader, Spatial Solutions. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and can be located in any of our network of offices across Australia. In this position you will lead and mentor our highly skilled national Spatial Solutions team who work on a diverse range of projects within the renewables, energy, transport, infrastructure, and mining and extractive industry sectors. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and inspirational leader (or capacity to grow into one) who is able to support our team to ensure the successful delivery of projects and encourage personal and professional growth. You will also be responsible for the delivery of technical work for the Spatial Solutions team, supporting our diverse projects across the company. We are seeking a dynamic, and enthusiastic individual who possesses strong communication and leadership skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.

Key functions of this position include:

  • Leads by example in living EMM’s values.
  • Oversee and drive the growth and development of the Spatial Solutions team (in consultation with the National Technical Leader and Division Leader).
  • Oversee and have accountability for the execution of the recruitment strategy for the Spatial Solutions team.
  • Liaise with all team members to coordinate resourcing/availability ensuring fair allocation of work.
  • Assist the Division Leader with development, implementation and tracking of the yearly business planning and strategy.
  • Mentor and provide on the job training to team members.
  • Preparation of high-quality deliverables across a variety of mediums.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion.

We seek applications from individuals with 10+ years’ relevant GIS experience, ideally gained within a consulting environment with experience in team leadership positions looked upon favourably. The successful candidate can demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Previous team leadership experience (or be looking to take on a people leadership role as the next step in your career).
  • A strong focus on people and their ongoing growth and development, including high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and nurture a team through motivational and inspirational leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding personal time management and organisational skills
  • An outstanding technical background with geographic information systems, including various spatial analyses.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the ESRI suite of products, including ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise and Online; and mobile data capture applications.
  • Experience within environmental consulting preferred.
