Allan Young was honoured recently when he was presented with a Churchill Medallion in Sydney.
The medallion marks the culmination of his research in coastal management across the US, Caribbean and UK. During the research, Allan collaborated with academics, regulators, community groups and practitioners in sectors such as local government, land use planning and behavioural economics. Allan’s research produced a number of significant findings and a paper is currently being peer reviewed for publication in an international journal.
There were 19 other medal recipients in research fields as varied as cerebral palsy, youth disadvantage and the repatriation of indigenous ancestral remains.
