Snowy 2.0

What is Snowy 2.0?

Snowy 2.0 is a pumped hydro project in the Snowy Mountains that will increase Snowy Hydro’s generation capacity by up to 2000 megawatts, and at full capacity, will provide approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of energy storage.

What is an EIS?

An EIS is a publicly available document that provides information on a project, including its environmental impacts and mitigation measures, and is used to inform development consent decisions if the project is approved.

Other reports

An EIS report is required for each phase of the proposed Snowy 2.0 project, before construction can commence. Other reports will be developed as Snowy 2.0 continues to progress.
