It gives me great pleasure to announce our latest recruit to the EMM team – Katie Teyhan. Katie will take the position of Manager Acoustics Newcastle. Katie has 12 years experience. Her work in acoustics is well known by peers and clients alike, and we are very excited about working with Katie – she will be an asset to the team.
Katie is passionate about her and her team’s continual professional development in technical and leadership capability. This commitment has been demonstrated by her appointment as a lecturer at the University of Newcastle in the faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. Katie has developed and executed external acoustics and vibration training services as well as provided internal training and technical mentoring to staff.
Katie has led a multidisciplinary team of environmental consultants, developed and coordinated technical resources across acoustics, environmental planning and approvals, air quality, land and water, ecology, waste management and strategy, valuations, hazardous materials and occupational hygiene.
Katie has extensive experience in environmental acoustics, including measuring, predicting and assessing noise and vibration associated with mining, industry, roads and railway transportation systems as well as in the acoustical planning of land uses near such developments. Katie also has considerable experience in conducting peer reviews and audits and preparing expert evidence in relation to noise and vibration assessment, methodology and compliance
