Andrea has ~20 years’ experience in social strategy and planning in Australia and United Kingdom. Andrea brings a wealth of knowledge and experience gained in government including Department of State Development, Queensland Health and Department of Housing and Public Works. She has also been a consultant to private companies in mining and resources and infrastructure sectors.
Andrea has diverse project experience including social impact assessments, social impact management plans and monitoring, and community and stakeholder engagement. In government, Andrea assisted in implementing the Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Act 2017 and drafting the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) guideline, which applies to all large resourcing projects requiring an environmental impact statement.
Andrea’s work supports the integration of all social, economic and environmental considerations of a project, from scoping to post-approval. In her role as National Technical Leader, Andrea brings rigor and insight to identifying, assessing, managing and monitoring the social impacts and opportunities of a project.
Andrea has a Bachelor of Social Science, Community and International Development and a Graduate Diploma in Social Planning and Development, University of Queensland. She is a full member and former Chair of the Planning Institute of Australia – Social Planning Chapter Queensland and member of the International Association of Impact Assessment.
